Our Lady of Guadalupe
Catholic Church
Est. 1908
Intended to serve the Mexican-American Catholics of Guadalupe County, the original Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe was dedicated on December 12, 1908 by Bishop John A. Forest.
At that time the Claretian Fathers served the church from San Antonio. From 1917 to 1924, there was a resident pastor in the parish till the Redemptorist Fathers from San Antonio served the parish for five years.
In January 1929, the Missionaries of the Holy Family were invited by Archbishop Arthur J. Drossaerts to take over the administration of the parish and they have continued in charge to the present time. The first Holy Family Pastor was Father Edmund Wegener who built a rectory, enlarged the church, and purhcased land for the cemetery.
During the pastorate of Father William Ostendorf (1933-1948), a parish school was opened under direction of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word. They would continue in charge till the school was closed in 1973. The Sisters convent was built 1939 and a new rectory in 1941.
A second church was built in the 1950s during the pastorate of Father Aloys Hepp, MSF. It would then be converted into a parish hall when the present brick church was dedicated on February 26, 1967.
The parish today currently serves about 1000 families.
Pastor
Rev. Josselin Randriamiharimanana, MSF
Fr. Mampiandra Josselin Randriamiharimanana, MSF, is a Malagasy religious priest of the Congregation of the Missionaries of the Holy Family. He was born on August 13, 1988, in Fianarantsoa, Madagascar. He is of Malagasy nationality.
He was baptized on September 11, 1988, received his First Holy Communion on June 13, 2004, and was confirmed on November 24, 2007. Following his high school graduation, he entered the religious seminary on October 9, 2010, beginning his journey of consecrated life.
Fr. Josselin professed his first (temporary) vows on September 19, 2012. He then pursued his philosophical studies from 2012 to 2015. Continuing his formation, he studied theology from 2016 to 2019 at the Grand Séminaire de Théologie de Faliarivo in Antananarivo, where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Theology with the distinction Bien Approbatus. He made his perpetual vows on September 19, 2018.
He was ordained to the diaconate on August 1, 2019, and to the priesthood on September 13, 2020.
Following his ordination, Fr. Josselin served for two years as Parochial Vicar at the Parish of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Anjoma, Ambalavao. After two years of priestly ministry, he was sent by his Provincial Superior as a missionary to the United States to assist the Missionaries of the Holy Family.
He arrived in the United States on October 22, 2022, and was assigned to the Diocese of Saint Louis, where he assisted Fr. Philip Sosa, MSF, Provincial of South America, at Saint Wenceslaus Parish.
After two years of missionary service in Saint Louis, Fr. Josselin was sent to the Archdiocese of San Antonio to assist Fr. David Tonary, MSF, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Seguin, Texas. On July 1, 2025, he was officially appointed by Archbishop Gustavo García-Siller as Parochial Administrator of the parish.
Fr. Josselin has a deep devotion to the Divine Mercy. As a Missionary of the Holy Family, he is especially committed to pastoral care of families, dedicating himself to accompanying them, listening to them, and bringing their intentions into his prayer.

Rev. Elysee Herinirina, MSF
I’m Father Justin Elysee Herinirina, from Madagascar. I belong to the Congregation of the Missionnaries of the Holy Family. I was born on June 08, 1974, in Fianarantsoa, Madagascar. Of course I’m of Malagasy nationality, son of Ramiray Justin (the late), and my Razananivo Bernadette (alive). I was baptized on October 10, 1974. I received my first communion on September 27, 1987, and was confirmed on May 28, 1989. I entered minor seminary and then became a member of the Congregation MSF following my bachelor’s degree in philosophy. I professed the first vows on September 19, 2003. Then I pursued my theological studies from 2003
to 2006 at the major Seminary, where I obtained a bachelor’s degree in theology with the distinction Bien Approbatus. I made my perpetual vows on September 03, 2006.
I was ordained to the diaconate on January 06, 2007, and to the priesthood on September 21, 2007.
Following my ordination, I have been responsible for young people in formation on MSF for two years. In 2008 to 2010, I pursued the theology in second cycle at Catholic University of Madagascar, I obtained a Master II in theology. At the same time, I was military chaplain in Antananarivo. A few months at the end of 2010, I was parochial vicar of Betania in Toliara.
Superior Provincial sent me to Spain to study canon law. I obtained a Master II in this subject. I was the novices master from 2015 to 2018 in Madagascar. I was appointed as pastor of rural parishes from 2018 to 2023. After that my Superior Provincial sent me as a missionary to the United States to assist the MSF. I arrived in the USA on April 8, 2025. Siller appointed me as parochial vicar at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Seguin, Texas on July 01, 2025.
